Hello, good evening and welcome. I don’t
know what happened to summer this year but I guess we’ve
missed it now. In our part of the world, Lochwinnoch, the gales
have been pretty horrendous. Our outside standard lamp blew off
its concrete base and our 4m umbrella with cast iron base blew
away. I don’t want to make you jealous but I have still
my holidays to get and you’ll be pleased to know that I
won’t be able to write to you next month because I’ll
be in KENYA. We are going to an island called Lamu with a party
of 20 Irish so we will have to check into a drying out clinic
to set us up for the Christmas spirits!
Foden are now firmly behind us and we feel that
we are now able to run the business our way and hopefully you
are finding an improvement. It makes a big difference when you
can control things like repairs or service items without having
to ask permission from a third party. We have found that there
is more work going through every department now and in fact Coachworks,
Trailershop and Grahams have been bursting at the seams for a
few months now.
Big events in our calendar this month are the
Group staff party to celebrate our survival after Foden and our
best few months trading in years, the Breakfast Awards which rewards
the Scottish Transport Industry at the Moat House and Pub of the
Year Competition in which The Howwood Inn have again made the
final 3 so it will be a busy month.
Sandra, in the Trailer Shop, has unfortunately
left us and as you may know by now, Fiona has taken over. Since
the Service Shop was much quieter, Fiona has managed to take on
the administration for both departments – don’t hesitate
to call her if you need anything.
Grahams of Glasgow have had consistently high turnover for the
last 3 months and will soon be a National name on the bodybuilders
lips, so if you are thinking of new bodies large or small, boxes,
curtainsiders, lutons, flatbeds etc, call them.
Until next month, Happy Halloween.
