We have lots of reasons to be
celebrating in April so I’ll have to cut it short to keep
it to a page. Its not the first time I’ve been told to say
less!
In Colin Hutton Group land, we
were celebrating at the weekend with two of our best loved employees
as they reached their 25 year anniversary with the Company. If
you have ever had any mobile repairs done, you will know Hugh
Goldie and John McCullagh and I don’t think I’ve ever
heard anything but praise from Customers about them. As they visit
your premises to carry out all manner of repairs to trailers and
vehicles (often emergency repairs to keep you on the road and
more often, in the cruel Scottish weather) they have become our
most valued ambassadors for the Company. We weren’t sure
exactly what dates they started as they didn’t have paper
in those days and certainly not employment contracts! In his speech
at the weekend, old CJ recalled their interviews where he picked
Hugh “not because of his skills but because I liked him”
and John gave the impression that he wasn’t desperate for
the job by admitting “my time keeping is poor”! He
never got any better at interviewing! Both men (and their long
suffering wives) deserve maximum praise for showing such staying
power through rough and smooth and many peaks and troughs and
it is a rare occasion now-a- days to be rewarding staff for such
loyalty. Many, many thanks from all the Hutton family and our
staff for their contribution to the Company which we hope will
continue for many years to come.
Now, if that hasn’t raised
a lump in your throat, wait for it…………my
darling, eccentric brother David and his (also, long suffering
wife) Kate announced the arrival of their beautiful, baby boy
on the 13th April. It was a bizarre few days waiting for news
and my mobile rang more than once in our daily production meeting
as the Managers all held their breath! Like father, like son,
the kid already wears a bandana and pirates booties (obviously
not matching) and has yet to be named. If I tell you that David
is insistant on Huckleberry, it becomes clear why Kate hasn’t
yet registered him! Thank you to everyone who passed on good wishes
to the proud parents and first time grandparents.
This month’s request is
for trailer work and particularly mobile work to make sure Hughie
and John stay fit and healthy in years to come. Let us know if
we can quote for your work.
Enjoy the May sun but remember me old Gran’s favourite saying
“Don’t shed a cloot til May’s oot”)
Regards
Corinne
