Welcome to this edition of drivel
from Sunny Stronend Street, in what has probably been the best
spell of weather I can remember in almost 30 years here. (You
will guess that it is Doreen here.) Colin has gone off on his
motorbike today to Orkney and if any of our friends in that area
would like to see him, give me a ring as I am in charge (as long
as Corinne is out).
Colin and I were kindly invited to Mitchells of
Grangemouth 50th Anniversary Ball in June and had a great time.
We are sure they will have at least another 50 as they have the
next generation all ready.
Thanks again for all the genuine good wishes we
have had for our new grandson, I am thrilled to bits with him
and am all prepared to teach him to swim – which is the
only thing I can do. I have his arm bands, trainer seat and we
are all set to go.
Our employee of the month for June was someone who has been exceptional
over the last month, with holidays, and sickness and has coped
without complaint. She also does as you ask her straight away,
first time. As you know, we do not normally regard this as an
office award unless circumstances are exceptional, so this month
our award (to her eternal embarrassment) went to Marion Robertson
in Accounts. Thanks to Marion for the extra effort and well done.
Our new Graffix Detail computer and printer should
be with us soon and will cut down time as everything will be done
on site. Livery is becoming much higher profile in the market
place and this month they have been very busy. Now is the time
to personalise all your transport. Should you cars and vans be
running about unmarked? They are costing you a lot of money -
should they not be an advert for your company? I have often wondered
about sign writing roofs of our cars so that Truck drivers would
see our ad. What do you think?
Grahams and Coachworks have both been very busy
this month, but since you are probably having holiday problems
just now, why not use the time to get the bump sorted or the paint
touched up.
This has not been our best month for health, as Donna has been
pretty sick, Lennie Corrigan who had a long holiday has been down
with something resembling Malaria and the “Young man”
(His words not mine) Allan Hendry, who runs the Trailer Shop has
been having his Cataract removed and was forced to take some time
off. Fortunately all three are back now.
Remember though if you are in having a running
repair done we can probably fit in some of the other small things
you have been putting off at the same time.
What ever you need for your fleet – YOU NEED US. (Hopefully.)
Have a great holiday if you are away this month
