HAPPY VALENTINES MONTH, ye old romantics. Anyone
wanting love hearts or flowers put on their love’s vehicle
to show their devotion should talk to Gordon or Paul in Graffix
Detail – that would be one for our brochure! You could write
on the card :
I couldn’t find the way to tell
A card or flowers or even e mail
But then I though this cannot fail,
Lovehearts on trucks by Graffix Detail. What do you think?
There are a lot of big hearts out there and I’m
hopeful that Dad and I can rely on some to help us raise funds
over the next few months for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres
via our Himalayan Challenge. Come on, it will be a real challenge
to the old man although he could put a few to shame in here! Please,
nothing is too small and we’d be very grateful for anything
you could donate to help Maggie’s Centres throughout Scotland.
Our Employee of the month turned out to be two
this month on account of us being absent on 31st December and
the return to work on 3rd January being a flop with so many off
ill. Accordingly, we decided to keep everyone in suspense until
31st January.
For December, a well deserved thank you to Connie
Hay who manages and assists the administration team. Connie gets
pulled from pillar to post covering for absences or overwork in
whatever department needs her most. She has been working a lot
of extra hours to help us organise ourselves following the switch
to SDC and I know Fiona & Allan have been grateful for her
extra pair of very organised and efficient hands. Connie is a
little sheepish at her award and it shows in her photo on www.colinhutton.com
.
Also in that photo is a second award for Jim
Ross one of our Trailershop bodybuilders. Jim’s name comes
up almost every month and he is certainly an asset in his Department
and a very good tutor to the apprentices there. In particular
he was rewarded for his speed at turning around a particularly
big and complicated job in January which meant the trailer was
back on the road a lot quicker than was predicted. Thank you Jim
- that is how we keep Customers happy and make money into the
bargain. Jim’s head will fall a little though when I tell
you I received an e mail from his mother asking why his picture
wasn’t on the website yet - I think she wanted to show it
in her Mother’s bragging book! So sweet!
This month we need to give a Grandmother of the
Month award to Linda in Coachworks who got the nicest kind of
surprise from her daughter last month with a 4lb baby Grandaughter
with no warning whatsoever. I know once she got over the shock
she was delighted and both Mother and baby are doing great. That
sorted out her January blues!
Anyway, that’s the torture over for another
month so help us to help you KEEP YOUR TRUCKING VEHICLES ON THE
ROAD.
