Merry Christmas. Ho! Ho! Ho! We’re going to
be all anti PC (politically correct) this month and have CHRISTMAS
holidays and CHRISTMAS presents and we hope it doesn’t offend
anyone who isn’t Christian. Live and let live, I say –
and take the presents anyway!
As always we have to have a competition in December
and I’ve got a particularly generous one for you this month.
Every year on our last day before Christmas I make everyone sing
an alcohol version of ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ which
I happened upon a few years ago called “and a wee heavy
and a half pint” instead of “and a partridge in a
pear tree”. Having sung that for a few years now, I think
we need a change and I would like a trucking/repairing/Huttons
related “12 days of Christmas”. We will send 12 prizes
to the best verses we choose in order to make up our new sing
song and I’ll even e mail the result to anyone who sends
me a request by e-mail. Clean suggestions to me by fax 0141 336
3821 or e-mail corinne@colinhutton.com by 20th December please.
Nicky (Company Secretary) broke with tradition this
month when he awarded the Employee of the Month award for November
on my day off. Instead of 1 lucky winner he also awarded an Apprentice
of the Month which went down very well with Michael Rice in Grahams.
Michael started with us over 2 years ago in the Trailershop and
has been flexible enough to work in Coachbuilding and Parts Department
before deciding on Grahams as his Coachbuilding trade. He is a
pleasant and cheerful member of the team and mixes well throughout
the Company. In fact, at Gerry’s 50th birthday bash (Parts
Manager) last week he was quite the little twinkle-toes! Our ‘Senior’
Employee of the Month went to Dominic Smith, a painter in Coachworks.
Dom is our Mr Nice Guy always helpful, reliable and efficient
even now that he is a proud Grandfather. He was obviously an early
starter as he doesn’t look old enough! See both at www.colinhutton.com.
Thanks very much lads.
In the news this month is the opening of an SDC
Parts & Service Department here on our premises in January.
This will certainly ensure a much bigger stock on site and quicker
turn around on your repairs and they plan to offer a parts delivery
service too. It will be headed up by our Gerry Cummings (the 50
year old!).
Also, we are embarking on a new relationship with
TTL for selling used trailers so if you are in need of increasing
your fleet, phone Alex McLean and he’ll try to meet your
requirements.
This year we will again be refraining from sending
you Christmas cards that you don’t need or want and instead
will be making a donation to The Possil Forum for the disabled
who need every penny they can get to provide leisure facilities
and I hope you agree this a more useful home for your money. Otherwise,
all that’s left is for me to wish all our Customers and
Suppliers a very Merry Christmas and the most Prosperous 2007
and remember we are here to help you in all your trucking needs.
