Jingle Bells, Willie fell, Davy’s hurt his eye, Billy and
Peter are old and sick but not as old as Mick. Oh…..
Ok so maybe I’m not terribly poetically gifted
but the point is that Christmas (or more specifically, winter)
brings a whole load of new problems and some of my boys are getting
on a bit and are a wee bit more delicate at this time of year.
But then, the young staff can have hangovers that they mistake
for flu. Anyway as long as your work is being carried out quickly
and efficiently (and we can bill you quickly) then alls well for
everyone but the Managers!
As I mentioned last month, we had our first ‘Employee
of the Month’ award on 30th November and I know you’re
all keen to see who won!!? Well coincidently, that same day was
the 20th anniversary of our loyal Salesman / Estimator John Campbell
and I can’t think of anyone who deserved the award more
that month. John works very hard out seeing Customers and estimating
the cost of repairing your vehicles and trailers and then upsets
the Managers by setting his prices far too low but as long as
the Customers happy! Thanks and congratulations to John. You can
see a flattering photo on www.colinhutton.com .
November has been another very busy month for us
and there are still orders lined up to keep December and January
busy. Here are opening hours if you have work for us.
Early closing (2pm) 24th December and 31st December.
Closed Saturday 25th to Tuesday 28th December inclusive and 1st
to 4th January inclusive.
Otherwise business as usual but on a slightly reduced staffing
level. I hope this ensures your vehicles are kept running when
you most need them.
We hope you’ll agree that Christmas Cards are often a costly
exercise and little appreciated or necessary between Companies
and we again hope you’ll agree that the money would be better
spent going to charity. So as has become customary every Christmas,
we are arranging our donation to The Possil Forum who provide
entertainment, trips and facilities for the disabled and this
newsletter can be our free Christmas Card to you. They are always
in need of decent games and playthings like the special bikes
or the pool table we’ve previously presented to them so
we’d be very grateful if you wanted to add to the donation.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope
Santa and his reindeers are good to you all, including Olive (prize
bottle of whisky to one lucky Customer who can tell me the relevance
of Olive the Reindeer - enter
online - draw will be on 24th Dec). Enjoy whatever festive
break you may get and Happy New Year Trucking. TTFN.
