April 2005 |
March is over and with it, our year end. 2004/2005 has been a
vast improvement on the previous year which caused concerns with
the Foden and Isuzu agencies being given up and the few redundancies
that resulted. In that year we also set up a new bodybuild Company
that took some investment.
This year we have made huge progress on the stability of all
our Departments and almost all have a good order book set up for
the coming few months. The massive workload has given us a lot
to contend with and I hope we haven’t let you down on quality
as a result. Our reputation (thanks to my Mum and Dad and our
loyal staff) is one to be proud of and has voiced to me by many
of you and I will nag constantly to make sure we strive to reach
our target of the perfect job every time. I would welcome any
feedback or constructive criticism in this area and hope that
doesn’t mean a large pile appearing on my desk!
March was a good one and all done without the aid of our Big
Cheeses (Mum & Dad / Colin & Doreen) who have been exploring
the opposite side of the globe for the whole month. Singapore,
Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and LA and she had the cheek to say
she might just pop off to Mexico for an extra week! However, I
don’t grudge them it because I know they haven’t had
a fortnights holiday in more than 28 years but I need them back
now – so that I can have a holiday!
This month’s employee of the month went to Jim Blacker
who is a painter in Coachworks. Jim takes on every job available
without further ado and does a great quality job ahead of schedule
on most occasions. He went quite pink (and grey!) in the photo
but I think it was the cameras fault! The 4 years he’s been
with us must have been tough on him, or maybe he just always looked
like Father Ted. Jim goes off with his blankety blank cheque but
he does get his name on a nice wee plaque in our reception.
Just to give you the last laught - I drove to work this morning
in the sunshine but had to pull over and quickly and put up my
hood to keep the snow and hailstones out – a sure sign of
Springtime and a warning if you’re thinking of buying a
soft top! Have a good month.
Regards
Corinne
