Hi all.
What a busy month July was both for workload and for events.
Thanks to all those who responded and attended our Customers Golf Day for Dad’s retirement at St Andrews a couple of Fridays back. Organising 25 Customers, uplifting them at different stops throughout Scotland; filling them with drink before, during and after; golf, buggies and carts; midway munchies, more drink and dinner before prize giving and freeby giveaways and the return deliveries – no effort what-so-ever! Dad and I managed to play 9 holes each and in between, we both enjoyed buzzing about on the buggies like Sam Torrance! This working life’s a drag! I think a great day was had by all and I’d like to send a big thanks to the suppliers who donated prizes and assisted me with the day.
Last week was Truckfest weekend and we went a wee bit further this year than normal as it is our 30th Year Anniversary Year on top of Dad’s retirement. We sponsored an award for the Best Customised Truck and had advertising banners in the main arena. I was a bit depressed when I got there to find that our main competitors had had the same idea but went at it bigger and better than us by a mile. The event organisers were very kind suggesting that I should pay the £30,000 next year to compete! Don’t think so! That would mean charging you more and we wouldn’t want that now, would we? (Nor would we get away with it!) I made a quite a sight stealing the limelight for a few minutes in one of our new fleet of vans for the Sponsors Parade though. Luminous yellow (as expected) and a new image provided by Graffix Detail, coming to a Motorway near you very soon. Believe me, you won’t miss it!
Our presentation to the Employee of the Month for July went to Coachbuilder, Jim Wilson. Jim is very dedicated, efficient and obliging but he also stands out a bit for his singing talents! Last week he walked past my window singing “Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning”! Obviously a good Sunday school boy! Girls – he’s quite easy on the eye too, if you get my meaning! See Jim’s photo on www.colinhutton.com
Thanks too all who sent well wishes to Mum after her op. She’s back on her feet after being bed ridden for 0 days! She should have been doing nothing for 4 weeks but, of course, she wouldn’t do as she was told! She’s now waiting on her new knees that will make her legless for 6 weeks so that’s going to be fun and games! Which reminds me, it made me laugh to read about the couple who, after winning the jackpot in the lottery, announced they were both going to have new knees! Big spenders! Hope they have someone to run after then for 6 weeks!
We now have a new batch of used trailers released to the market. Mostly Curtainsiders and Boxes in varying sizes and ages, although Alex McLean has a few specialised ones as well. We can alter these if they don’t exactly match your specification or image. Call us for more information or if you need helping finding a particular spec.
Keep the enquiries and estimates coming as we’ll soon get through the current order book since we are working all through the weekends at the moment!
Regards
Corinne
